教育方針 Guiding Principle for Education
依遵佛制,比丘尼六夏學戒為教學規劃;以戒學為基,止觀為輔,慧學為導,淨土為歸。
In accordance with [the rules] laid down by the Buddha, a bhikshunis should study the Vinaya for six years, and it is the basis of the instructional plan. The Vinaya is the foundation, samantha-vipasyana is the auxiliary, wisdom is the guidance and Pure Land is the ultimate home.
在戒學的研修基礎下,教觀雙修,解行並進。
With the foundation of Vinaya study, the Buddhadharma and meditation can be cultivated together as the comprehension and practice being carried out simultaneously.

培育課程 Curriculum of Cultivation
1.品德 2.戒律 3.教理 4.行門 (念佛) 5.僧眾事,護法安僧,弘化利生。
1.moral character 2.Vinaya 3.doctrines 4.practice (recitation of the Buddha’s name) 5.sangha-affair (Guarding the Dharma and securing the Sangha; propagating [the Buddhadharma] and benefiting sentient beings).
依學院叢林化,叢林學院化的理念,讓學生在解行並進的訴求下,參與常住之作務。
With the ideal that education being carried out within the monastery and the monastery being a place for education, the students are required to participate in the monastic affairs as a way to cultivate comprehension [of the Buddhadharma] and to carry out the practice simultaneously.
諸如:五堂功課、誦戒、結界、結夏安居、傳戒、佛七之實務操作。
Participate in the monastic affairs such as the prayers of the five times, posadha, boundary determination, rains retreat, precept transmission and seven-day Amitabha recitation retreat.

學院組織尚包含文書、輔導、會計、修繕等。規劃完善,各司其職,共同培育弘法利生之僧才。
College structure also includes other positions such as office clerk, counselor, treasurer and maintenance technician. With good organizational planning, each performs its functions to foster talented sanghas who are to propagate the Dharma and benefit the sentient beings.

經云: 「有人事佛,當求明師,得了了者,從受戒法,為除諸想,與經相應,精進奉行,不失其教。」
It is said in the sutra: “A devoted Buddhist practitioner should seek for a wise teacher who fully understands the Buddhadharma, and receive the precepts from him. To eradicate illusions and impure thoughts, and to correspond with the teachings, one must practice diligently and accordingly. [With such an effort, he] would not deviate from the teachings.”

出家眾:年滿16至50歲 Sangha: Age 16-50
在家眾:年滿16至45歲 Laywoman: Age 16-45
正信三寶、思想純正、身心健全,
比丘尼、式叉摩那、沙彌尼 、女眾居士,
依學歷及戒學薰修狀況安排修學。
Bhikshuni, siksamana, sramanerika and laywoman who has true faith in the Triple Gems, a healthy body and mind are welcome to apply. Entrance program will be assigned depending on applicant’s educational level and previous learning in the Vinaya.

預修部: 道心與僧格之陶練
Preliminary Program: trainings in bodhicitta and monastic characters.
初級部: 戒律與經教基礎性全面修學
Beginner’s Program: practice and study on the basis of the Vinaya and doctrines.
中級部: 戒學或經教重點深入
Intermediate Program: going deep into the study of the Vinaya and doctrines.
高級部: 專長培育與教育訓練
Advanced Program: training in personal and educational skills.

戒律: 南山三大部、止作二持、菩薩戒等。
Vinaya: The Nanshan Canon, Prohibitive and Prescriptive Precepts, and Bodhisattva Precetps, etc.
經教: 唯識學、淨土學、天台教觀等。
Doctrines: Consciousness-Only Buddhism, Pure Land Buddhism and Tien Tai Buddhism.
其他: 梵唄、行政、資訊、行腳、體能訓練。
Others: Buddhist hymns, administration, information management, wandering on foot and physical training.

果清律師 Vinaya Master Guo Qing
現任:正覺精舍、圓通寺方丈。
Current Position: Abbot of Zheng Jue Temple and Yuan Tong Temple
律師專精於戒律、專志淨土、潛修般舟三昧數次,為台灣持戒嚴謹、威儀俱足的律宗大德。
Vinaya master Guo Qing focuses his study and practice on Vinaya and Pure Land Buddhism, and has practiced pratyutpanna samadhi several times. He is a respected Vinaya master in Taiwan who observes strict precepts and keeps dignified manners.

天因法師 Venerable Bhikshu Tien Yin
現任:正覺精舍副住持
Current Position: Assistant Abbot of Zheng Jue Temple
法師以持戒念佛,為自利利他修行的宗旨,兼習經論之學;輔助建立如法僧團;以淨戒為因,淨土為果,作為修行不二法門。
Observance of the Precepts and recitation of the Buddha’s name are the objectives of Venerable Bhikshu Tien Yin’s practice, and his ways to help himself and benefit others. He also studies doctrines and treatises, and helps to establish the Sangha in accordance with the Dharma. Observance of the pure precepts be the cause and rebirth in Pure Land be the outcome. This is the one undivided method of his practice.

本因法師 Venerable Bhikshu Ben Yin
現任:南普陀寺副住持,美國法雲寺佛學院院長
Current Position: Assistant Abbot of Nan Pu Tuo Temple and Dean of Fa Yun Buddhist College, Fa Yun Monastery U.S.
法師對戒律有深入且精湛之研究心得,禪觀與淨土法門雙修,助理編輯著作《律藏會集》及編輯《毗尼問答》。
Venerable Bhikshu Ben Yin has profound and masterly study in Vinaya, and practices both dhyana-contemplation and Pure Land Buddhism. He assisted in editing The Compilation of Vinaya Tripitaka and edited Questions and Answers on Vinaya.

紹安和尚尼 Upadhyayika Shao An
現任:義德寺住持
Current Position: Abbess of Yi De Temple
和尚尼以《無量壽經》引領大眾 ,發菩提心,導歸淨土。
Upadhyayika gives lectures on Longer Sukhavativyuha Sutra as a way to lead the assembly, in hoping everyone’s bodhicitta can arise, and Pure Land could be their ultimate home.

宗立阿闍黎 Acarya Zong Li
現任:義德寺學務長
Current Position: Director of Student Affairs (Yi De Temple)
專精於《戒相表記》研討,法師弘揚戒法心切,除台灣以外、香港、新加坡、大陸、馬來西亞等各地,亦常有法師弘法的足跡。
Acarya Zong Li focuses her study on The Listed Records of the Precepts in Various Forms (Jie Xiang Biao Ji). She is enthusiastic in propagating the Precept Dharma, so other than in Taiwan, she has given lectures on the Dharma in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Malaysia.

輔導小眾師父僧格之培養,以及教授沙彌律儀、式叉摩那戒等課程。
They give guidance to the novices in the cultivation of sangha characters. In addition to that, they give lectures on The Essentials of the Shramanera Vinaya and Rules of Deportment and Siksamana rules.

淨土Pure Land Buddhism
淨界法師 Venerable Bhikshu Jing Jie
現任:淨律學佛院教務主任
Current Position: Academic Affairs Supervisor, Institute for Buddhist Studies of Jing-Liu Monastery
法師之修學以天台為宗,旁及唯識、中觀,並匯歸淨土法門;教義之研究以中國傳統佛法為主,以僧伽教育為己任。
Venerable Bhikshu Jing Jie focuses Tien Tai Buddhism as his practical studies, and at the same time, he also does studies on practices of Consciousness-Only, Madhyamaka and Pure Land Buddhism. His doctrinal research is mainly on Chinese traditional Buddhism, and regards sangha education as his responsibility.

本明法師 Venerable Bhikshu Ben Ming
現任:淨律學佛院講師
Current Position: Lecturer, Institute for Buddhist Studies of Jing-Liu Monaster
法師依止淨界法師學習教理,於淨土、戒律、唯識、天台等皆有廣泛學習,以弘揚佛法,導歸淨土,圓滿菩提大願。
Venerable Bhikshu Ben Ming takes lessons on doctrinal studies from Venerable Bhikshu Jing Jie, and also does extensive studies on the Vinaya, Consciousness-Only and Tien Tai Buddhism. Propagating the Buddhadharma and cultivating Pure Land Buddhism are his ways to accomplish his great bodhi vow.

道徹法師 Venerable Bhikshuni Dao Che
現任:般若淨宗學院講師
Current Position: Lecturer of Prajna Pure Land Buddhist College
法師為般若淨宗學院畢業,畢業後,曾與學生們授課。講述課程有《佛法概論》《阿彌陀經》等。
Venerable Bhikshuni Dao Che graduated from Prajna Pure Land Buddhist College. After her graduation, she has given lectures on An Introduction to Buddhadharma and Amitabha Sutra to the students.

唯識 Consciousness-Only Buddhism
修因法師 Venerable Bhikshu Xiu Yin
現任:淨律寺學佛院監院
Current Position: Assistant Abbot, Institute for Buddhist Studies of Jing-Liu Monastery
法師於淨律學佛院講授教理,涉獵有淨土、戒律、唯識、天台、儒學等。今生乃以弘護正法,續佛慧命為己職志。
Venerable Bhikshu Xiu Yin gives lectures on doctrines in Institute for Buddhist Studies of Jing-Liu Monastery, and he dabbles in Pure Land Buddhism, the Vinaya, Consciousness-Only Buddhism, Tien Tai Buddhism and Confucianism. He regards propagating and maintaining the true Dharma, and prolonging the life of the Buddhadharma as his responsibilities.

誠因法師 Venerable Bhishu Cheng Yin
現任:淨律寺學佛院監院
Current Position: Assistant Abbot, Institute for Buddhist Studies of Jing-Liu Monastery
法師之修學以南山律為基礎,輔以大乘經律論,依此導歸淨土法門。法師以護持僧團教育、講授戒學、弘揚佛法為職志。
Venerable Bhikshu Cheng Yin’s practical study is mainly based on Nashan Vinaya. Mahayana doctrines and treatises are his secondary studies, along with the practice on Pure Land Buddhism. He regards uplifting sangha education, giving lectures on the Vinaya and propagating the Buddhadharma as his responsibilities.

天台 Tien Tai Buddhism
法藏法師 Venerable Bhikshu Fa Cang
現任:佛教僧伽林教育院院長、楠西萬佛寺管理人
Current Position: Dean of Sangha Educational Institute and Trustee of Wan Fo Temple, Nan Xi
以住持道場及僧伽教育為己任,並以教學天台、行尊律儀、住依僧團、修歸淨土,為住持道場、自利利他之宗旨。經常受邀至國內外演講 、領眾薰修法華三昧。
Venerable Bhikshu Fa Cang regards managing the temple and educating the sanghas as his responsibilities. Teaching Tien Tai Buddhism, observing the precepts and the rules of deportment, dwelling in the Sangha and practicing Pure Land Buddhism are his objectives in managing the temple, and benefiting himself and others. He is often invited to give speeches in Taiwan and overseas, and give guidance in the practice of saddharma pundarika samadhi.

歷史沿革 History
始源於民國元年創建義德堂
Yi De Temple was first founded as Yi De Hall in 1912. 
義德堂第一代住持 寬正和尚尼
The first abbess of Yi De Hall was Upadhyayika Kuan Zheng. 
民國64年義德寺遷建於此
Yi De Temple had been re-established to the new location in 1975. 
義德寺第一代住持 宏壹和尚尼
The first abbess of Yi De Temple was Upadhyayika Hong Yi. 
義德寺第一任管理 修賢和尚尼
The first trustee of Yi De Temple was Upadhyayika Xiu Xian. 
懺公上人 於民國64年至87年於此舉辦齋戒學會
Venerable Bhikshu Chan Yun had established Eight-Precept Association between the year 1975 to 1998.

和尚尼建寺時有發三個願 :
Upadhyayika made three vows when re-establishing the temple: 
1. 不作香火道場 
The temple will not be a place just for worshiping. 
2. 不趕經懺
The temple will not conduct any private ritual service in exchange for donation. 
3. 不做觀光遊覽地區
The temple will not be a tourist spot. 
更用了慈祥的身教言行,為弟子們樹立了實踐菩薩道的典範。
The gracious upadhyayika teaches her disciples by her own examples. She is the model practitioner of the bodhisattva path.

民國82年起,依遵佛制每年舉辦「結夏安居」熏沐學戒風範
To enrich the demeanor of learning the vinaya, rains retreat has been observed in accordance with [the rules] laid down by the Buddha since 1993. 
承蒙 本因法師多方指導及鼎力相助,並提供五臺山竹林寺戒壇藍圖。 
It is honored to have Venerable Bhikshu Ben Yin’s guidance and great help in providing the blue print of the Ordination-Platform of Zhu Lin Temple, Mt. Wu Tai. 
本寺住持 上紹下安和尚尼
赴遼寧省禮請 古明和尚尼
並前往福建太姥山平興寺實地考察。 
回台之後即籌備建壇事誼
Our abbess, upadhyayika Shao An, went to Liaoning Province to invite upadhyayika Gu Ming, and also did the on-the-spot investigation at Pin Xing Temple of Mt. Tai Lao, Fujian Province. She started preparing for platform construction on her return to Taiwan. 
民國91年啟建如法如律甘露戒壇
In 2002, [the temple] started to build Amrta Ordination-Platform in accordance with the Dharma and the Vinaya. 
戒壇是依照道宣律祖於《關中創立戒壇圖經》一書中所述而建。
The Ordination-Platform was built according to Vinaya Master Dao Xuan’s depiction in The Graphic Sutra of the Ordination-Platform Built in Guanzhong. 
宣祖所作圖經乃是依據阿難尊者於結集時所言,其在佛身邊所見到的戒壇相狀。 
Vinaya Master Dao Xuan’s graphic sutra was written according to the details described by Arya Ananda, during the Buddhist council, on the form of the Ordination-Platform at the time of the Buddha. 
民國91年起,每兩年傳授一次尼眾二部僧授具足大戒。
Bhikshuni Ordination Ceremony conferred by the duo-sangha has been held biennially since 2002. 
甘露戒壇由道海律師敬書
The Chinese calligraphy of “Gan Lu Jie Tan” on the tablet was written by Vinaya Master Dao Hai. 
對聯由果清律師撰寫
The antithetical couplet was composed by Vinaya Master Guo Qing. 
右聯:入此門來,人人皆得勝妙戒
On the right, it says “In entering this door, may each one of them receive the most subtle precept essence.”
左聯:出斯戶去,各各咸修莊嚴行
On the left, it says “In going out from this door, may every one of them cultivate the most dignified and solemn practice.” 
戒壇有三重,代表三空:
Three layers of the Ordination-Platform symbolize the three immaterialities. 
第一重的高度為佛的一肘,表示比丘於戒壇受戒之後,能制心專一, 無有散亂。
The first layer is one buddha-elbow long in height, indicating that after receiving the precepts on this Ordination-Platform, a bhikshu is able to restraint his scattered mind and focus single-pointedly. 
第二重的高度,佛一肘手半,即轉輪聖王初登壇,接受灌頂時的高度。
The second layer is one and half Buddha-elbow long in height, and it was the height when the cakravartin was baptized on the platform. 
第三重的高度,高佛指二寸,表二諦;長七尺,表七覺支。
The third layer is two inches in height which is about the length of one Buddha-finger, indicating the Twofold Truth, and seven feet in length, indicating the Seven Factors of Enlightenment. 
階道護法 
Statuaries of the Dharma Guardians surrounded the Platform
戒壇周圍布列神像,是表示諸善神護持佛法,令佛法長久住世。
The Ordination-Platform is surrounded by many statuaries of deva, indicating all the good devas shield and support the Buddhadharma so it can be long-lived in the world. 
圓頂上之雲紋,表上品戒法凝聚於虛空中猶如寶蓋。
The cloud-pattern on the rounded ceiling indicates that the superior level of the precept-dharma has gathered in the sky like a jewel ornamented canopy. 
毗尼住世、佛法住世
“So long as the Vinaya remains in the world, 
the Buddhadharma will remain in the world.” 
受戒、懺罪等皆須憑藉戒壇。
The procedures for receiving the full precepts and making confession on a transgression must be performed on the Ordination-Platform. 
本寺築壇傳戒,盼能留傳世尊的清淨戒法 ;願毗尼弘興,正法久住。
Our aim of building the Amrta Ordination-Platform and transmitting the precepts is hoping that the pure precept-dharma taught by the World-Honored One can be remained and passed down. May the propagation of the Vinaya be prosperous, and long live the true Dharma. 

傳戒特色 Features of Precept Transmission 
一、戒師如法 
Precept masters should meet the qualifications in accordance with the Dharma. 
根據《毗尼母論》云:和尚與二位阿闍黎都必須如法,
According to Matrka Sastra, both upadhaya and two acaryas must meet the qualifications in accordance with the Dharma. 
七位尊證師都要清靜且明曉戒律。
The seven witnesses must be pure and knowledgeable about the Vinaya. 
律藏中說,如果沒有得戒和尚,或戒師人數不足十人,授比丘尼戒需二十師, 則此授戒之法都不能成就。
It says in the Vinaya Tripitaka, the performance of conferring the Precepts is indeed invalid if there is no preceptor upadhaya, or if there is an insufficient number of the precept masters (transmission of Bhikshu Precepts requires ten precept masters and Bhikshuni Precepts requires twenty precept masters.) 
二、戒壇如法 
The Ordination-Platform should be built in accordance with the Dharma. 
創築戒壇之後,更重要的是如法結界;如果結界不成就,羯磨法就無依憑之處。
After building the Ordination-Platform, it is more important to determine the boundary in accordance with the Dharma. If the determination of the boundary is invalid, the karma has no base to establish itself. 
三、戒子如法 
The candidates to receive the full precepts should meet the qualifications in accordance with the Dharma. 
依《隨機羯磨•諸戒受法篇》中「受戒五緣」 所述,能受之人須具足五種條件,方可進受具足戒。
According to the section on Five Conditions of a precept-candidate, in the chapter on Precept Transmission of The Commentary on Sangha Karma (Sui Ji Jie Mo), a candidate who is to receive the full precepts must fulfill five conditions. 
何謂五緣: 1.是人道。2.諸根具足。3.身器清淨(非破重戒)。 4.具足出家的形相 (剃髮染衣)。5.得少分法。(二年式叉) 
What are those five? 1. Must be a human. 2. Must have all faculties intact. 3. The physical vessel should be clean (No serious transgression has been violated.) 4. Be a monastic (shaving hair and dyeing the robe). 5. Must have obtained some training in the precepts (two-year of siksamana training). 
四、授受儀軌如法
The ceremonial procedures of precept transmission should be in accordance with the Dharma. 
諸多的儀規佛事,一點一滴無非是要培養我們的菩提心,令其增長廣大。在身心的一切活動中,能時時刻刻守護淨戒無所毀犯,並以此不懈的精神,繼續朝菩提聖道前進。
All these ceremonial procedures and Buddha-affairs aim to help us cultivate our bodhi mind, and letting it grow vast. During all the physical and psychological activities, always be able to observe pure precepts without any transgression, and moving toward the sacred Bodhi Path with such diligent spirit. 
使令,佛日將昏而增輝,正法重現於末世。
May the falling Buddha-surya be increased in its brightness, true Dharma will reappear in the period of degeneration.
